One Blessed Christmas

This is my first post on my blog, hopefully it'll come out ok...J/K.

So this was another Christmas away from my family and it was a unlike a couple years past i mi missed my parents more than normal. They are back in New Mexico right now and it's about 18 hours away by car and...well just not able to take that many days off right now to get out there. Is is truly amazing how the Lord has blessed me once again this year and given me such a great with another family.

Christmas eve came, after my long day at work had ended at about 7 and i got home to kick off the shoes and relax a little. For me, especially when holidays come, i really want to stop and reflect because i know how busy life gets. Not to mention how often i don't stop to praise, meditate and glory in the Lord for who He is and what He's done! What encouraged me to do this was reading my friend Ted's blog while it was slow at work. So that night i was blessed to go home and wrap a couple of presents, sit in front of my computer and type out about 2 pages of things the Lord has done in my life this year that i'm truly thankful for. I ended up finishing about 12 or so and bofore i fell asleep i was able to talk to by Beautiful girlfriend, who wished me a merry christmas...good times

Christmas day i woke up and was able to spend some time in the word...so cool, All the while i listened to a sermon by R.C. Sproul which was bomb. i went to the Lemm's house about 12:30 and on the way up i was able to encourage and be encouraged by my friend, I was just stoked to have had that conversation. To tell you the truth i was truly blessed this day, Just the Joy the Lord gave me to be with the family and my girlfriend was awesome. Shortly after i arrived it was present time for Keleo ( I Love that Time) and for everyone else as well. As i sat there with presents gathered around my feet from my family and theirs, i began to just smile with joy and excitement. To be able to have a family to spend it with was amazing not to mention the joy of being able to give them something as well. I got some amazing things presents and the best was this sweet beanie my Girl made me! i Love it. I think i had more fun and joy seeing the smiles on their faces and what joy they had than receiving the presents myself, The Lord is true when he says it is more blessed to give than receive. We all opened them in turn right after i opened like 5...whoops!!! It was so cool, just blessing and smiles all around not for the gift only but for the stories that came with how we got it and to see how stoked they are to have received it. I absolutely loved that time that i was able to share with them and Just a bit earlier I was able to sit and talk with Gordon about the Lord, how amazing He is and what he was able to share with the family from the Scriptures when they all woke up.

After a great time with them we hung out and got ready to go over to Mandy's grandparents house and spend some time with them. We had a great time of fellowship, eating dinner and opening presents. It still floors me that even though i am not a part of their family by blood i am spiritually and vicariously by dating a member of it...but seriously, i am so stinking blessed by this. Any who, we had a great dinner, talk and topped the night off with a game called "apples to "apples. Such a fun game, they say the cards you end up with at the end describe you...for most of us it was pretty right on!
I was able to talk to my family and rejoice with them and hear of all the good things going on with them and do the same with family out here. So that is my Christmas, my thoughts and the reason i am very thankful to the Lord...
